TPT Exclusive vs Basic calculator

Enter your own numbers to compare what you would keep each year on Basic and on Exclusive, and how much own-store income Basic needs to catch up.

TPT asks sellers to decide by December 31, 2026, 11:59pm ET. This page is a neutral calculator, not advice. Exclusive sellers may sell their digital educational resources only on TPT.

Your numbers

The starting numbers are an example, not a benchmark. Replace them with yours.

Sales before TPT's cut.

Counted as one resource per order.

Exclusive's per-resource fee only applies to these orders.

Only possible as a Basic seller. Exclusive sellers can't sell these resources elsewhere.

5% is the Payhip free plan's fee. Card-processing fees aren't included, so add them here if you want them counted.

Yearly take-home

With these numbers Exclusive comes out $825.05 a year higher.

Basic
TPT payout (55%)$4,400.00
Fees ($0.30 × 2000)-$600.00
Own store, after fees$1,425.00
Take-home$5,225.00
Exclusive
TPT payout (77.5%)$6,200.00
Fees on orders under $3-$90.00
Membership-$59.95
Own store$0.00
Take-home$6,050.05

Break-even own-store sales: $2,368.47 a year. Above that, Basic comes out ahead; below it, Exclusive does.

The formulas

  • Basic = sales × 55% − resources × $0.30 + own-store sales × (1 − own-store fee). Basic has a $29 one-time fee; it is left out unless you tick the box.
  • Exclusive = sales × payout rate − resources × (share of orders under $3) × $0.15 − $59.95 a year. No own-store income, because digital educational resources must be sold only on TPT.
  • Break-even = (Exclusive − Basic without own store) ÷ (1 − own-store fee).

Simplifications: one resource per order, and no taxes, refunds, currency conversion or payment-processor fees. The decision deadline is December 31, 2026, 11:59pm ET.
